AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT is 6.5% faster than GeForce RTX 3090 Ti in 3DMark Time Spy

The Wccftech portal shared performance data for the updated Radeon RX 6950 XT, Radeon RX 6750 XT and Radeon RX 6650 XT graphics accelerator models in several 3DMark synthetic tests. Recall that the release of all three video cards is expected next week.

According to the source, the tests were carried out on a system with a Ryzen 7 5800X3D equipped with DDR4-3600 memory. The operating system used was Windows 10, on which the pre-release version of the Radeon Software 22.10-220411n driver was installed.

The cards were tested in 3DMark Time Spy, Fire Strike, 11 and Port Royal benchmarks. In Time Spy, the Radeon RX 6950 XT was faster than the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti with 22,209 points. NVIDIA’s flagship, in turn, showed a score of 20,855 points. The test was conducted at 1440p and the difference was 6.5% in favor of the AMD card. According to Wccftech, even when overclocking the GPU to 2200 MHz and the memory to an effective frequency of 23.5 GHz, the card GeForce RTX 3090 Ti was only 1% faster than the Radeon RX 6950 XT. However, this difference can be offset by overclocking the AMD graphics card.

The Radeon RX 6750 XT was faster than the GeForce RTX 3070 in the same test (14,472 vs. 13,999 points), while the Radeon RX 6650 XT was faster than the GeForce RTX 3060 (12,029 vs. 9244 points).

In the 3DMark Fire Strike tests, the updated models of the Radeon RX 6000 video cards also showed their strong side.

In 3DMark Port Royal, NVIDIA graphics cards retained their leadership. This test is designed to test the performance of ray tracing. The Radeon RX 6950 XT model offered a performance level close to the GeForce RTX 3080, but could not catch up with it. The ray tracing performance of the Radeon RX 6750 XT came close to the GeForce RTX 2080, but was significantly lower than the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. In turn, the processing of ray tracing model Radeon RX 6650 XT carried out a little faster than the GeForce RTX 3050.

As noted by Wccftech, all updated Radeon graphics cards used in 3DMark tests had the reference specifications declared by AMD. Obviously, the company’s partners will also present their solutions. That being said, some of them are likely to offer optional factory overclocking. Full tests of the updated Radeon graphics cards should appear on May 10th. Then the accelerators will go on sale. Their recommended cost is not yet known.
