Atlanta police have arrested and charged a rapper, who signed to the record label Young Thug, with murder on suspicion of his involvement in a shooting that killed a man outside an apartment complex.
Atlanta police said Saturday that Jacoby Moody, 20, known as FN Dudler, has been taken into custody and charged with first degree murder and possession of a firearm in connection with the June 5 felony shooting, WSB-TV reported. TV.
According to prison records, Moody is being held in the Fulton County Jail without the right to release bail.
Modi’s mother told WSB-TV she believed it was a case of mistaken identity, adding that the family had appointed a defense lawyer and planned to make a statement later this week.
Tremaine Glasper, 28, was found with multiple gunshot wounds in a car at an apartment complex on June 5th.
Police said at the time that they were looking for three suspects in the shooting.
Modi is not listed as one of the defendants in the racketeering trial of rapper Young Thug.
The jury in that case is expected to resume meetings this month.
The court is also expected to continue hearing the case of Young Thag and thirteen other persons for at least six to nine months.
Prosecutors said Young Thug, whose real name was Jeffrey Williams, was the founder of a criminal street gang called the Young Slime Life, or YSL, and that he and others had committed numerous crimes to further the gang’s interests.
Defense representatives said that the acronym YSL stood for the name of the record label, Young Stoner Life, and that their clients did nothing wrong.
