American tourist killed on Mazatlan beach

SINALOA.- This weekend A tourist was murdered with gunshots after an argument in the middle of Gaviotas beach from the port of Mazatlan.

The incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at Playa Gaviotas, in the golden zone of Mazatlán, where the tourist was in the company of his family.

The victim was identified as Alexis “N” 21 years oldwhile her sister Karen “N” was injured.

According to the first reports, a large group of people were socializing and listening to live music on the beach, when suddenly explosions were heard of firearms and the brothers were injured.

Alexis, originally from Los Angeles, California, was shot three times, two of which lodged in his back, causing him to die on the beach, while his sister was taken to a hospital in the port.

At the scene, Two wheelchairs were found and traces of alcoholic beverages, so the State Attorney General’s Office began an investigation to determine whether a conflict arose between the attendees during the party.
