Following a bomb threat targeting his Mumbai residence and recent security concerns across the film industry, Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan greeted fans on Sunday from behind a newly installed bulletproof glass shield at his Jalsa bungalow, maintaining his decades-old weekly tradition alongside his son Abhishek Bachchan.
Crowds gathered outside the Jalsa bungalow in Mumbai on November 1, 2026, as the veteran actor appeared for his customary Sunday public greeting. Unlike previous weeks where the superstar stood in the open, this weekend’s appearance featured a transparent protective enclosure. Security personnel maintained a strict perimeter around the property, while Abhishek Bachchan stood directly behind his father to monitor the surrounding crowd, according to detailed video footage from the residence.
Bomb Threats and Industry Security Protocols
The heightened security measures follow a threatening email received by Mumbai police on October 23, 2026. The message originated from a school located in the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) area. Investigators reported that the communication named several high-profile targets, including the Mumbai mayor’s office, an Airoli school, and a planned Mumbai concert featuring Punjabi singer Diljit Dosasañh, alongside a specific threat directed at the Jalsa residence between October 31 and November 27.

Health Updates and Ongoing Professional Work
Amid the security adjustments, the 84-year-old actor has continued his professional commitments while managing recent health concerns. He recently addressed his recovery on his Tumblr blog, noting that medical professionals advised him to take additional rest.
Amitabh Bachchan wrote on his Tumblr blog, More rest needed… adjustments… thinking and wondering… the human body and its uniqueness.
Despite the medical advice and the reinforced barriers at his gate, Bachchan continues to host the television quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati. His most recent film appearance was in the 2024 Tamil blockbuster Vettaiyan alongside superstar Rajinikanth, while upcoming cinematic projects include Kalki 2, Brahmastra 2, and Section 84.
