In the morning conference held in National Palace, the head of federal executive Mexican declared that this decision was made so as not to leave works pending the next Federal government.
There will be no pending, the purpose is to finish everything, that is why new works will no longer be started. And we don’t want to indebt the country, we’re going to go as we go, “he explained.
The boss of federal executive The Mexican stressed that the only thing that will remain pending are the social programs of his Administration, which have already been elevated to Constitutional rank.
“The purpose is that we do not leave anything in process, well, the Welfare programs are going to remain in process because the right to a pension, to scholarships, to health has already been raised to constitutional status, that will not be removed, it was great progress,” he said.
The Mexican president said that the mega works he is promoting will be completed in a timely manner, despite the obstacles that have arisen to carry them out.
The Maya Trend, the Dos Bocas refinery or the Felipe Angeles International Airport -the new capital airport- are some of the main works of the Government of López Obrador.
Despite the austerity discourse and as a result of the crises derived from the pandemic, specialists have questioned whether the Government prioritizes these megaprojects.
