Russia – Until the end of last year, Russia ranked in the first three places in the classification of G20 countries according to the lowest unemployment rates, which confirms the strength of the Russian economy despite all Western sanctions.

In December last year, Russia ranked third after Japan and Mexico in this classification, which was prepared by the “Novosti” agency based on data from the national statistical bodies of the countries of the group.

The unemployment index in Russia last December reached 3%, which secured it third place in the classification, while Japan ranked first, as its unemployment rate reached 2.5%, and in second place was Mexico (2.6%).

After Russia, South Korea (3.2%) came in fourth place, then the United States (3.7%) in fifth place, while Saudi Arabia came in eighth place in the classification, as the Kingdom recorded an unemployment rate at the end of last year at 4.4%.

The following is the ranking of the countries with the lowest unemployment rates in the G20 (data for December 2023):

On the other hand, South Africa recorded the highest unemployment rate at the end of last year, reaching 32.1%.

On an annual basis, unemployment decreased in 12 G20 member countries, most notably Turkey, where this indicator fell by 1.3% to 8.9%.
