The blue planet will be threatened by an asteroid at a very close date. According to press reports, this is the 2015 RN35, an asteroid which will pass close to the earth, on the morning of Thursday, December 15, 2022. According to its orbit, the rapprochement between the asteroid and the Earth will take place precisely at 9:12 French time. Furthermore, the moment can only be seen through telescopes. Also, it will simply be visible from the southern hemisphere of the globe. However, the European Space Agency (ESA) insisted that this rapprochement will be visible with 30 cm telescopes.
Asteroid detected 4 hours before it crashes
Note that the information on 2015 RN35 comes several days after the researchers of Catalyna Sky Survey detected an asteroid 4 hours before it crashed into Earth. The impact took place on November 19, 2022, between the lake erié of the USA and the lake Ontarioau Canada. Several information had been provided on the asteroid, in particular by the media Minor Planet Center. The celestial body measured one meter in diameter and, according to the site Numeramait crashed without doing any damage.

The early detection and observations of this asteroid illustrate our ever-increasing ability to warn us of even the smallest impacts.”, had entrusted the ESA, the European space agency.
