An earthquake measuring 5.3 Richter in southern Iran is felt by residents in the UAE

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – An earthquake occurred, Saturday, in southern Iran, with a magnitude of 5.3 on the Richter scale and a depth of 141 kilometers, according to the European Seismological Observatory.

The tremor, which occurred at 4:09 GMT, was felt by a number of residents of the UAE, especially in the Emirate of Ajman.

While residents of the Emirate of Dubai said that they also felt the earthquake.

The National Center of Meteorology in the Emirates confirmed that there was “a significant earthquake in the country, and it has no effect on the country,” according to a tweet by the center on Twitter.
