Egyptian Minister of Culture Nevin Al-Kilani commented on the recent acquisition of Saudi citizenship by some Egyptian artists and media figures.
The Minister stressed that Egypt is the second country to all the sisterly Arab countries, saying: “Egypt has, throughout its life, opened its doors to all people of all nationalities, especially the Arab countries.”
She added: “Egyptians throughout their lives acquire other nationalities from all countries, and this does not conflict with their belonging to their country, and there is no doubt about their patriotism.”
She continued: “There are very many Egyptians who have different nationalities from the whole world, and for them the sister Arab countries, Egypt is their second country. Millions of Egyptians reside, work and live in the Arab countries. There are no problems at all.”
Recently, a large number of Egyptian artists and media figures obtained Saudi citizenship, most notably Mohamed Henedy and Amr Adeeb.
