Dissidence Production unveils its new UFO for the cooperative Migros, leader in the Swiss retail market.
Directed by Varnish et Rémi Danino this completely new and daring film revisits the codes of advertising with a 7-minute short film. A new genre, completely breaking with current codes!
Salvia Rosmarinusa packet of Migros chips customized in a limited edition, a concert Antifreeze in the Migros Geneva warehouses on February 17, 2024, these are the magical ingredients of this astonishing recipe prepared with love by several hands. This is the slightly crazy story of an unprecedented artistic collaboration between the Geneva artist Varnish La Piscine and Migros Genève. Contemporary music with a rich visual universe, hip-hop is on the borders of pop culture and an assumed, even diverted, commercial dimension.
It is divided into three axes. Varnish customized the packaging of a packet of chips from the M-Industry (Bischofszell AG in Thurgau), sold in all Geneva supermarkets and some Vaud supermarkets in limited edition. Then, to highlight this product, the Meyrinois produced a 7-minute short advertising film, which was filmed in the canton of Geneva at the beginning of November. Finally, an evening event in collaboration with the Antigel Festival is being held in warehouse 2 of Centrale Migros Geneva, on Saturday February 17, 2024.
Cultural services are one of the historic characteristics of Migros. Every year, good or bad, a part of the turnover (and not the profit, an important nuance!) is donated to culture thanks to the Cultural Percentage. This financial mechanism, included in the statutes of the Migros Cooperative since 1957, has made it possible in almost seven decades to redistribute 5 billion francs in civil society. It is a unique model in the world, which has since attracted more and more followers.
Today, with this powerful project, Migros Genève aims to shed light on its DNA and update the spirit of Gottlieb Duttweilerthe founder of Migros who makes an appearance in the film.
