Fenerbahçe, a Turkish professional footballer, has been disciplined for the conduct of home fans who shouted the name of Russian President Vladimir Putin at players of the Ukrainian soccer team.
The European Football Federation has imposed a fine of 50,000 euros on the Fenerbahçe club and a ban on the closure of the spectator seats during home matches hosted by the federation.
On the 28th of last month, Fenerbahce’s home fans chanted President Putin to Kiiu players during the European Champions League second qualifying match against Ukraine’s Dynamo Kiiu, receiving criticism from the international community.
