An IPS Black monitor with Thunderbolt 4 at HP

Unveiled at the beginning of the year by LG Display, IPS Black technology is beginning to appear in early monitors. This is the case at HP, which lifted the veil on the Z32k G3a 31.5-inch 4K (3840 x 2160, 60 Hz) screen which also has the luxury of integrating Thunderbolt 4.

IPS Black gives LCD screens better contrast (2000:1) than conventional liquid crystal models (1000:1). LG promises 35% deeper blacks than on existing IPS screens, as well as greater color accuracy and very high clarity.

So far, only Dell has launched with the IPS Black and its U2723QE (27-inch) and U3223QE (32-inch) models, but these displays do not have Thunderbolt 4. Which makes the Z32k G3 so much more interesting! The monitor’s T4 port provides up to 100W of power and 40Gbps throughput. There is also a USB-C port (15W), 4 USB-A 3.2 ports, two DisplayPort 1.4, an HDMI 2.0 port, an Ethernet port.

Only problem, and even two: HP has announced neither availability nor price. Knowing that Dell’s 32-inch model is charged 1 087 € (without T4, let’s remember), we can hope that the competing monitor will be a little more expensive, but not too much.
