An ISIS suicide bomber detonates his body inside a mosque and assassinates “Rahimullah Haqqani”, a Taliban leader in Kabul • Al-Marsad newspaper

Al-Marsad newspaper: A video clip circulating on Thursday showed the moment of the assassination of a prominent cleric in the Taliban movement in Afghanistan, “Rahimullah Haqqani”, in an attack at a religious school in Kabul, when an ISIS attacker detonated an explosive device hidden in a plastic prosthetic leg.

Commenting on the incident, Bilal Karimi, a spokesman for the Taliban government, said: “Unfortunately, we were informed that the honorable cleric Sheikh Rahimullah Haqqani was martyred in a cowardly attack carried out by our enemies,” according to “Archyde.com”.

Hours following the assassination, ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement.

Haqqani has survived previous attacks, including a huge explosion in the northern Pakistani city of Peshawar in 2020, which was claimed by ISIS, in which at least seven were killed.
