The news of the day, or rather the rumor at this stage, comes to us from Podcast XboxEra. According to Nick Baker, one of their reporters, a collection Gears of War would be in preparation. It would be designed on the basis of MCCeither the initial trilogy with Marcus Fenix, and probably the spin-off Judgment. Baker suggests that it would also be available at the end of the year!
In this age of remasters and remakes aplenty, this information certainly seems plausible. Gears is one of Microsoft’s biggest franchises, with a bright future ahead of it. But the backward compatible optimizations already presented us with the titles in 4K/60fps, not to mention the first installment, which was entitled to its remake on One in 2015… To bring the crowds together, a nice redesign work will be mandatory, and above all, a multi holds up at launch. Which was far from the case with the Master Chief’s collection…
