an open air cinema and Offf for the Nifff

The architecture of the Open Air, in the Place des Halles, will be transformed. “The new infrastructure relies on the aesthetics of a game of illusions and mirrors while increasing the reception capacity (700 places)”, indicate this Thursday, May 19 the Nifff and the City of Neuchâtel, which co-produces and finances the Nifff Invasion program.

The public will be able to discover or see restored classic masterpieces under the stars, such as “ET the Extraterrestrial” by Steven Spielberg or “Psychosis” by Alfred Hitchcock.

The Offf space will unfold in the English Garden and on two floors. Music will ring out every night. Two special evenings, July 2 and 9, are on the program, in collaboration with the Case à Chocs concert hall,

Three Swiss video games

A new place will complete the new offer of the festival. The Villa, the mansion of La Petite Rochette, will host a new space for digital and interactive explorations. It will echo the recent wave of new independent Swiss creations by showcasing three 100% Swiss video games.

Contemporary art will also make a comeback. The artist Gabriele Garavaglia has been given carte blanche to infiltrate the festival venues with a performance firmly rooted in the fantastic. “A unique exhibition, in partnership with the Maison d’Ailleurs, will explore the strange and the queer at the Théâtre du Passage, thus resonating with the retrospective Scream Queer”, can we read in the press release.

The Nifff will unveil its official program on June 16.
