Greed is cool? Not with Maserati. The dimensions of the new Italo SUV Grecale are powerful: 4.85 meters long, 1.95 meters wide and 1.67 meters high (GT version). The Modena and Trofeo variants pack another three centimeters in width (1.98 meters). Understatement isn’t necessarily the greatest strength of the latest Maserati model.
What for? Even the mild hybrid four-cylinder in the basic version GT delivers 300 hp, the Modena 330 hp. And the top model Trofeo gets 530 hp from the 3.0-liter V6 petrol engine. The Grecale sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, and tops out at 285 km/h. A pure electrician will follow in a year. Inside, the Italians use the finest materials and technology. The voice control turns the Grecale into a concierge, two screens (12.3 and 8.8 inches) form a control unit at the front, a third touchscreen serves as a control unit at the back.
The trunk (Trofeo) holds 570 liters, the mild hybrid models bunker 535 liters. The Grecale comes in the third quarter. Starting price: 87,970 euros.
