Analyst predicts that the “iPhones 15” will only arrive in October

the analyst Wamsi Mohanfrom Bank of America, published a forecast — seen by Barron’s — intriguing to say the least, which suggests that the launch of the line “iPhone 15” could be “postponed by a few weeks”, so that it only arrives in October.

As many are bald to know, the Apple has a track record of launching its new lineup of smartphones in September. The exception occurred in 2020, when the iPhones 12/12 Pro arrived in October and, the iPhones 12 mini/12 Pro Max, only in November – at the time, much due to the pandemic (COVID-19).

Mohan even predicted the delay of the iPhone 12 in 2020, which gives him some credit in this area. Still, the new prediction seems to be the only one (so far) related to a possible postponement this year.

Without providing any possible reason for this, the analyst limited himself to commenting that this situation could affect Apple’s fiscal September quarter. According to his estimates, the company should announce revenue of US$87.1 billion in the period – below the average expectation of US$91.6 billion.

Also in his note, Mohan said the company’s fiscal 2023 third-quarter results, to be released on Aug. 3, are likely to be “nearly in line” with estimates.

It is worth noting that there are no reports of problems and/or serious delays in Apple’s supply chain, so production appears to have started on schedule. We will see, however, if something along these lines will emerge in the coming weeks…
