Ancelotti comments on Atletico Madrid’s refusal to pass the honorary passage

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has agreed with his Argentine counterpart, Diego Simeone, Atletico coach, who refused to establish an honorary corridor for Real Madrid after being officially crowned in the Spanish League.

“Every society is different, and in Spain the honorary corridor is considered a congratulations to the competitor, but in the country I come from, there is no such thing,” Simeone, coach of Roji Blancos, said in the press conference for the match against Real.

“Italians are not used to this,” Carlo added. “Everyone has to do what they like and feel and we have to respect their desire.”

“Atletico Madrid is a club, a neighbor and a friend, we respect and we are fans. If they stand in an honorary corridor, it will be a good thing, but if they do not stand, nothing will happen in any case. We will respect what they decide.”

And he concluded, “Our respect for the entire Atlético de Madrid entity will remain as it is.”

The Real Madrid derby against Atletico Madrid will be held tomorrow evening, Sunday, at the “Wanda Metropolitano” stadium, in the 35th round of the Spanish League competition.
