Anderlecht disappointed with Murillo: ‘Sometimes the power cuts out in his brain’

JI can’t let this pass. I don’t accept it. We are a group, we have had less good times. You don’t have to ask me what the penalty will be. But there will be one.”

Vincent Kompany raised his voice when he addressed the dismissal of Amir Murillo after the game against Union. The Panamanian committed a willful and totally unnecessary foul, given the timing and the situation.

The coach’s speech was repeated in the mouth of the captain of Anderlecht. “He abandons the team. And it’s not the first time it’s happened”this Hendrik Van Crombrugge.

The goalkeeper tried to give an explanation for the behavior of his defender. “He has a certain temper. And sometimes the power goes out in his brain and something happens.”

He didn’t want to point a finger at it, though, or like “responsible for results”. Given the reaction of Wesley Hoedt during his exclusion, Murillo will take a soap from some teammates and his coach.

In the locker room, on the other hand, he said nothing and was not taken to task. “Sometimes a look is worth more than words. In this situation, there is no need to talk to him. He realizes very well what he has done. He is in the wrong. Completely. He does not no excuse.”

Van Crombrugge preferred to focus on the whole Anderlecht collective. “We are too nonchalant on the first goal. And being trailing 0-1 by the best counter team is never a good situation. And we offer the 0-2 too easily. We conceded nine goals against the Union in four games and them only two. That makes it difficult for us.”
