TASS, January 10. Eight-time Russian football champion Andrei Tikhonov became the head coach of the Krasnoyarsk club Melbet – the First League “Yenisei”. This was reported by the Yenisei press service.
Tikhonov replaced Eduard Steinbrecher as head coach of the club. Tikhonov worked as a head coach at Yenisei in 2016-2017, under his leadership the team took third place in the Football National League (FNL).
Tikhonov is 53 years old; his previous place of work was Kazakhstan’s Astana, which he headed from October 2020 to November 2021. Under the leadership of a specialist, the team became the champion of Kazakhstan. He also headed Sparta Shchelkovo and Krylia Sovetov Samara, which he led to second place in the FNL. Tikhonov also worked as an assistant head coach at Spartak Moscow and Krasnodar.
Enisey is in 10th place in the First League standings with 24 points after 20 games. In the first round after the winter break, the Krasnoyarsk team will play at home with Moscow Torpedo.
