Andrew Wiggins out for the end of the regular season

Earlier this week, Adrian Wojnarowski announced the return of Andrew Wiggins to the field with Golden State. Finally, it will be postponed since Steve Kerr has declared that the Warriors will finish the regular season without him.

On April 3, a small Woj Bomb came to wake up Twitter with a return of Andrew Wiggins planned for this last week of regular. The winger missed 23 games to stay with his seriously ill father. We saw him return to the group, on the Warriors bench during the match against the Thunder, with a smile on his face and a big standing ovation for the Canadian. But we will have to wait a little longer to see him back on the field with a jersey. Steve Kerr has formalized the fact that Andrew Wiggins will no longer play the regular season. He continues his training to return to 100% for the postseason.

“Across the court in 5v5 he looks good. He hasn’t played for two months and he’s on the field running. He still has a number of days to go before he’s ready to play an NBA game.

We can’t put him in bad shape health-wise. We have to make sure that we prepare him well and that his strength and physical condition are good before we put him on the pitch. It will continue to work and ramp up pretty quickly”

– Steve Kerr

The Warriors have two games left before the play-in or playoffs. First against the Kings this Friday, before finishing quietly against the Blazers this Sunday, when the 30 NBA franchises will be on the field. The defending champions are in this ultra-tight part of the table which can still change well between now and April 9th. Like the Lakers, Golden State is still battling for fifth place, but could fall in the play-in if the teams behind push hard.

In any case, there will be important matches to play in mid-April and the Warriors would love to have Andrew Wiggins on board to provide some defense and extra support for the Splash Bros. The first pick 2014 will also bring its shooting, its athletic qualities as well as a bit of order in this franchise which needs everything to be hierarchical. Without disrespecting Donte DiVincenzo, his contribution cannot be compared to that of Andrew Wiggins, All-Star last year and capital in the conquest of the last title.
