Annette Michel is one of the most endearing celebrities on Mexican television. Oblivious to the controversies and reserved in terms of her private life, Michel has had outstanding participation in soap operas and as the host of important programs —MasterChef, the most remembered case—. Although she hasn’t been very active in recent months, she keeps in touch with her fans via social media. It was precisely through her Instagram that she informed her followers that she had been admitted to the hospital. She initially published a photo that aroused concern, but recently she clarified that everything is under control and that the reason for her hospitalization was a acute gastroenteritis.

For Michel adversity is not unknown. He has had to overcome her since she was a child. Born in 1971, the driver lost her father when she was eight years old due to a car accident. However, her mother decided to hide this tragic event from them. “We found out that she had an accident and I always knew that he was in the hospital, that he had taken him to Houston, but I thought he was alive,” Anette said in an interview for “Historias Engarzadas” in 2014.

After suddenly finding out from an aunt, Anette had to deal with her grief. “I cried for a year the death of my father”, has counted. The family of the current driver moved from her native Mexicali, Baja California, to Guadalajara, Jalisco. In the Pearl Tapatia, Michel found a job as a cashier in a clothing store, as she felt a duty to support her mother with the family expenses. Later, she ventured into modeling thanks to a school friend who took her to the Elegance agency.

From that moment on, he climbed levels in the world of modeling. In that facet, she worked as the leader of a cigar brand that sponsored racing events. There she met the pilot —later driver— Israel Jaitovich, with whom he began a four-year ups-and-downs romance. One of the critical moments in their relationship came when Anette received an offer to work in Miami. “She didn’t support me. She didn’t want me to leave. She needed the nudge to make that decision.” Although she acknowledges that Israel did not ask her not to leave her, her disinterest was evident. “It wasn’t pressure, it was not supporting me. He just told me: you’ll know'”. The relationship ended after Jaitovich asked her to marry him, but she did not accept because she wanted to focus on her professional projects.

Michel’s peak moment came when he ventured into acting in the telenovela ‘Al Norte del Corazón’, one of the first productions of this nature on TV Azteca. In that plot, Anette shared the screen with George Louis Pile. The romance exceeded the screen and moved into real life. For five years they formed one of the media couples of the time. They got married but the marriage lasted a month. Everything exploded in 2002, when Pila received an offer to work in Miami for Telemundo. Anette had a project in Mexico (‘When you are mine’) and she couldn’t accompany him. After the breakup, Michel fell into a deep depression.

Rodrigo Abed, co-star of ‘When you are mine’, became Anette’s friend and later boyfriend. The relationship healed the pain for Pila, but it also ended after Abed showed a lot of jealousy: “He gave me everything he had, but I couldn’t love him the way he loved me”Annette said. Also during this stage, Anette earned a spot on ‘Tempranito’, a magazine program in which she eventually developed a strong rivalry with Ingrid Coronado. Although Michel has said that there is no grudge against her, he also does not understand what was the reason why Ingrid decided to raise the rivalry that arose from the competition for screen space.

“There is not a woman with whom Ingrid Coronado has not fought”, said Daniel Bisogno, partner of both in that production. Anette does not like controversy, so no brawl with Coronado occurred at the public level.

After sustaining a relationship with the employer Luis Manuel Peralta, Michel returned to the screens with two telenovelas on Azteca: ‘La mujer de Judas’ and ‘Secretos de Familia’. After her came a very long period of inactivity that was difficult for her followers to understand. Anette has denied the versions that point to her as an actress who charges excessive fees and demands leading roles to appear in a project. From 2015 to 2020, she was the host of the show ‘MaterChef’, but in 2021 she decided to leave TV Azteca to return to soap operas with ‘Contigo Sí’. She did it on the sidewalk across the street: Televisa.

However, in April of this year, he uploaded stories to Instagram in which he was seen in photos from TV Azteca. He did not reveal the name of the project or give further clues. It is clear that this multifaceted woman still has a lot to offer to her thousands of fans.
