Angélique, marquise des anges (6ter): a TIMELESS saga!

Incalculable! What ? The number of times the saga Angelic was broadcast on TV! A figure that is certainly pharaminous but which, above all, in no way alters the pleasure of finding Angélique de Sancé de Monteloup and Joeffrey de Peyrac, Count of Toulouse, forever embodied by Michele Mercier et Robert Hossein. That’s good, from Tuesday May 3, 6Ter is rebroadcasting the five films, obviously starting with the first, Angelique Marquise of Angels. And that is always a good idea.

Angelique, an unfailing determination

Often mocked for her insipidity, Angelic has always been against the saga Sissi, yet much, much more… blue flower. (Yes, we have chosen our side!) Because our pretty Marquise in the sad dress (nickname given to Angélique by Philippe de Plessibelière, her ugly cousin whom she will nevertheless marry in order to return to the Court) is not a plant green. The life of the incendiary redhead is indeed biiiiiien more sulphurous. And even if Angelic is driven by love, the saga is not just a joke. With the exception of his arranged marriage with Joeffrey de Peyrac, not only older but also lame and scarred (and yet so attractive), Angelique is not the type to accept the blows of fate without a snub.

On the contrary, she does not hesitate to pull up (all) her petticoats, to roll up her lace sleeves and to brave the (many) dangers. First by thwarting a plot to eliminate Louis XIV, then by opposing the same King in order to prevent her scarred husband from ending up at the stake like a poor wizard, all because he turns lead into gold ! Rebelotte when she decides to regain her rank and when she abandons everything to find her love finally not dead burnt in place of Greve.

Abducted (several times), sequestered (often also), detained by pirates, fed to wild cats, sold at auction… Her journey is far from easy. Not to mention the (also impressive) number of rapes she escaped. Because if Angelique indulges in the pleasures of the flesh, it is always consented! And although she had several lovers, except the King to whom she always refused, no man managed to make her forget her (beautiful) Joeffrey! Neither Nicolas, her childhood friend who reigns over the Court of Miracles, nor the Russian prince who saved her from the clutches of the Persian ambassador. (Sami Frey) not even the Dirty Poet (Jean-Louis Trintignant), which gives it a little lightness. In short, Angélique is the perfect saga for little girls who want to do something other than tapestry!

Sets, costumes… everything is beautiful in the saga Angelic !

Crinolines, corsets, wigs, jewellery… In addition to Angélique, love and her Joeffrey, costumes hold a place of their own. Just like the scenery, superb, and just like everything else. Even to the point of making us forget that at that time, at Versailles, however well dressed they were, everyone relieved themselves behind the curtains.

Casting side the bar is high too. In addition to Michèle Mercier and Robert Hossein, who will forever remain Angélique and Joeffrey, viewers will find Jean Rochefort, perfect in the skin of the faithful friend, Michael Galabru in that of the King’s confidant, Claude Giraud who plays the infamous cousin (and in The Adventures of Rabbi Jacob he is the one who plays Slimane), Roberto, alias Barcarolle, Sami Frey, Jean-Louis Trintignant… In short, all the ingredients are there to have a great time!
