March floods lead to border closure in Angern
St. Pölten (OTS) – The border crossing into Slovakia on the state road L 3016 near Angern an der March is still closed due to flooding, and the ferry cannot currently cross the March. Otherwise, the roads in Lower Austria are predominantly wet; in the Gaming, Lilienfeld and Gloggnitz area, muddy roads or snowy roads must be expected at higher altitudes. The necessary clearing and spreading operations are underway everywhere.
In the Persenbieg area there is patchy ground fog with visibility between 70 and 100 meters. The temperatures this morning ranged from +0 degrees, which were measured in Gloggnitz, Lilienfeld and Weitra, to +9 degrees in Korneuburg. In the Mostviertel (Gaming) up to three centimeters of fresh snow was measured, in the Industrieviertel (Gloggnitz) the amounts of new snow were up to two centimeters.
