Anglo American, in partnership with the Mitsubishi Corporation, has been operating the Quellaveco mine, one of the largest copper deposits in the world, located in the Moquegua region, in southern Peru.

Quellaveco, which will have a reserve life of 30 years, uses the open pit and flotation mining process to produce copper concentrates, as well as molybdenum and silver as by-products. Quellaveco is expected to produce an average of 300,000 tons of copper per year in its first 10 years of operation.

Anglo American recently published three job offers that we detail below.



The first is for a Industrial Applications IM Specialist, for the Information Management area. The professional must have higher engineering training in systems engineering, computer science, electronics, telecommunications or related; desirable ITIL Service Management certification, COBIT, Scrum; and desirable studies in service management or postgraduate.

You must have knowledge in the following points: support or administration of historians such as PHD or PI System, Ignition; systems at the management level in historians, DCS, laboratories, reconciliation, mine clearance, weighing, anti-fatigue, anti-collision, business intelligence, interfaces between systems, SCADA, condition monitoring, weighing systems, etc; understanding of the value chain of the mining process; among others.

The specialist in industrial applications will plan, coordinate, manage and support the industrial applications of the entire business value chain in OT (Operation Technologies) environments, will be the technical expert for problem solving, user support, feasibility studies , technical designs, security, governance and expansions of industrial applications.

A second job offer from Anglo American is for a Legal Specialist – Corporate Affairs & Social Relationswhich will be responsible for providing legal advice on the activities carried out by the Group in Peru.

The purpose of the role is to provide legal advice to Anglo American on corporate matters and social matters in Peru, including negotiations with national, regional and local governments, agencies and institutions, as well as advice on negotiation and strengthening relationships with communities and other stakeholders; evaluation of institutional and social agreements, contracts and donations, and other legal issues related to corporate affairs and social affairs.
