Angola assumes itself as a candidate for the African – Jornal OPaís

The National Amputee Football Team is a candidate for the title of the African Cup of Nations that the city of Cairo, Egypt, will host from the 18th to the 29th of April, according to national coach Augusto Baptista “Cheto”, reacting to the draw held on the competition stage.

The national team is in group D, and will face Sierra Leone, Tanzania and Rwanda. “Despite being a balanced group, Angola is favorite to win this competition,” said the coach.

Baptista Cheto said that Ghana, Morocco and Egypt are teams with arguments; Therefore, it is important to prepare better, because the next phase will be stronger.

In the African Championship, Angola made its debut in 2009 in Liberia, but was only African champion in 2019, in Benguela, and in 2021, in Tanzania, it came in third place. In 2018, in Mexico, Angola was world champion and in the 2022 edition, in Turkey, it came in second place.
