Presidential candidate number 1 Anies Rasyid Baswedan conveyed his team’s readiness to oversee changes through lawsuits related to the Constitutional Court (MK) election at the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (Amin) National Team Winning House, Jalan Pangeran Diponegoro Number 10, Menteng, Central Jakarta , on Thursday (21/3). Anies stated that Amin’s National Legal Team was ready to go to the Constitutional Court to submit files and register the lawsuit.
“Later they will bring all the documents related to the legal process that will take place. So this morning we met briefly and they are ready to immediately go to the Constitutional Court,” he said.
The process at the Constitutional Court, Anies explained, was carried out as a lesson to make Indonesian democratic practices better. The former governor of DKI Jakarta is of the opinion that the election process and results are equally important. Good results will not be possible through problematic processes.
“We want to emphasize to everyone that what we experienced, we witnessed, and the public also witnessed, starting from aspects of policy, regulations, to execution, there are many problems there,” said Anies. He also stated that the lawsuit process at the Constitutional Court was not just about the protocol of congratulating the President-elect.
But more on substance, Anies wants the problematic system to be corrected so that it doesn’t happen again in the future. “How can this process be improved and the hope is that the quality will be even better,” he concluded.
The head of Amin’s National Legal Team, Ari Yusuf Amir, explained that registration had been carried out online. Now, what Amin’s National Legal Team is carrying out is the administration process for complete documents at the Constitutional Court.
This application, Ari said, had been in the works for a month. He claimed that his party had gathered many experts and many experts as well as quite convincing evidence and witnesses.
“The study is very thorough and we have completed this petition at the Constitutional Court with quite convincing evidence and the witnesses we have prepared are quite convincing,” concluded Ari. “Later in more detail after it is officially accepted by the MK, friends can see it,” he concluded.
