In order to support future generations of veterinarians, the Animal Care Agency (Agata), of the Ministry of the Environment (The reason) from Mexico City, signed a Collaboration agreement with the School of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics in Small Species of the Mexican Canophile Federation.
During the signing, Dr. Jose Luis Payrodirector of the School of Veterinary Medicine and Small Species Zootechnics of the Mexican Canophile Federation, thanked the Animal Care Agency for supporting his students, who will carry out volunteer practices and social service in the different work programs carried out by the Agatan, as well as in sterilization days, campaigns and actions to generate a culture of respect and adequate coexistence with the different animal species.
The holder of the Agatan, Carlos Esquivel Lacroixhighlighted the importance of promoting animal welfare by offering veterinary medicine students sufficient training and tools to carry out correct work, as well as promoting a culture of respect, protection, care and responsible guardianship of animals among the population.
It is worth mentioning that the School of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics in Small Species FCM is the first school in Mexico and Latin America dedicated exclusively to small speciesinterested in caring for animal health and welfare, in addition to protecting public health and providing society with zootechnical veterinarians with training focused on companion animals.
La Agatan, interested in participating in the training of young professionals, created from the beginning of the administration a support program for students and professionals who want to carry out their social service, professional internships or volunteering to acquire the abilities and skills necessary to correctly practice veterinary medicine.
The Ministry of the Environment endorses its commitment to citizens to guarantee their right to a healthy environment and, through the Animal Care Agency, will continue to carry out joint actions with academia and society in a coordinated, open, inclusive and transparent manner. in favor of companion animals.
