”We tried several times to prevent the Countess from having animals. But every time, she goes to buy some. She no longer has control over them. They do a lot of damage. They are not fed and therefore attack other animals. It’s mainly ponies and donkeys that are attacked,” comments a neighbor.

The authorities were informed after the attacks on Sunday, December 10. The Walloon Region was also contacted by residents of Villeroux, via the number 1718, which allows animal abuse to be reported. She went down there the following Monday to see the facts.
Comtesse’s dogs are not their first try. “Last Sunday, it was obvious because the videos were taken in broad daylight. But some nights, we also hear ponies neighing. When the pack of dogs is released, it goes through everything and attacks mainly equines but also neighborhood chickens,” continues the disgruntled neighbor.

But that’s not all. A jogger was also the victim of an attack by the Countess’s dogs. “In the past, a person who was doing canicross was already attacked by the dogs. A complaint had been filed.”
The neighborhood alerted several animal rights associations. They gathered in Villeroux this Wednesday to evacuate the hundred or so animals present in the village.

This is not the first time that the Countess has been targeted for animal abuse. This was already the case in 2018. A seizure of animals had already taken place in the village but it was not on the same scale as this Wednesday, December 20. In 12 years, this is the fourth time that a seizure has taken place. Five years ago, the Countess did not win her case in court and was dismissed at the Council of State on all her arguments. His animals had been seized.
The Countess was deprived of her liberty by the police and the courts will now decide on possible sanctions.
