On the fifth anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death, it was announced that the pop star’s children would inherit a fortune worth billions
This Wednesday (June 25) marks the fifth anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death. The music legend, who died in 2009 at the age of 50 from an overdose of the anesthetic propofol, is remembered worldwide. At the time of his death, Michael Jackson’s debts were getting out of hand – today, business with the “King of Pop” is better than ever. According to a report by dailystar.co.uk, a team of financial experts has calculated that Jackson’s children – Prince Michael, 17, Paris, 16, and Prince Michael II (nicknamed “Blanket”), 12 – will inherit a huge fortune.
According to Michael Jackson’s will, the inheritance will be paid to the children in three parts. The first part is due on the child’s 18th birthday. However, Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket will have to wait a few more decades for the other two payouts, as they won’t receive them until their 33rd and 44th birthdays.
The “Daily Star” financial analysts have calculated that by the time Prince Michael turns 18 on February 23, 2015, her father will have accumulated a posthumous fortune of more than 1.246 billion euros.

The fortune could grow even larger in the coming years as some ambitious projects are planned in connection with the rights to Jackson’s musical legacy. Among other things, five albums with previously unreleased material are to be released. A world tour with singing and dancing holograms of Michael Jackson and a museum in Las Vegas are also planned.
Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket are already sharing a small annual payout, which financial experts say should be around 5.7 million euros this year. With the money, the children finance, among other things, their training at private schools or the necessary bodyguards if they want to go on vacation undisturbed.
