“Give it your all once more! With a Dieter as you know him. ”This is how RTL announced the new – and probably last – season of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” (“DSDS”). For the 20th time, Germany’s most successful casting show will flicker across the screen on RTL from Saturday (8:15 p.m.).
Back following a one-year break: “Pop-Titan” Dieter Bohlen. At his side ex-“DSDS” winner Pietro Lombardi. He will then accompany his musical “foster father” on his tour – announced as the “biggest comeback of all time” – and will also be a guest in the Wiener Stadthalle in May. The jury is completed by Katja Krasavice and Leony.
The eyes and ears will be directed to Dieter Bohlen anyway. Because you can expect sayings like: “I just ate a schnitzel with cucumber salad. And the cucumber salad was more musical than you.”
In the 19th edition they were missing. Bohlen had to give up his place to pop star Florian Silbereisen following weaker ratings, which ended in a medium disaster for RTL.
The end went to Bohlen’s kidneys. “‘DSDS’ and ‘Supertalent’ are my children, for whom I really did everything for 18 years. If you are suddenly told that others are doing it now – that hurt me back then,” he said in the RTL press conference. “And just as it hurt me to stop back then, it was an incredibly beautiful day when I sat at the jury’s desk once more for the first time. That really touched me.”
