The president of the Institute of Public Health and sole authority in Health, Dr. Manuel Maurera, announced the rehabilitation of key areas of the Ruiz y Páez Hospital Complex in Ciudad Bolívar.

He said it, after taking a tour of the place, accompanied by deputies to the Legislative Council of the Bolívar State (Cleb), Armando Barreto, Yusleibys Ramírez, Lisbenio Muñoz and Dulce Guarnizo. In addition, medical personnel from the institution were present, they reported in a press release.

At a press conference he reported on the “renaissance of the University Hospital”, in order to strengthen the health system in the region.

“We are progressively recovering the hospital and outpatient network, with investments in Comprehensive Diagnostic Centers (CDI) and comprehensive community health areas, applying high-impact, low-cost, and short-time work,” he added.

He mentioned that the connections proposed in the Ruiz y Páez rehabilitation project include; blood bank, operating rooms, delivery rooms, emergencies and hospitalization rooms, in addition to guaranteeing that the supplies actually reach the patients.

He recalled the arrest of several people in Caroní, for trafficking medicines, supplies and surgical medical material, a crime that threatens the lives of people

“We will not allow unscrupulous hands to put the health of Bolivarians at risk, because our duty as public officials, as stated in the Magna Carta in its articles 83 and 84, is to guarantee the health of the people in a free, universal and without any discrimination”.

“We are making a great effort to consolidate the health system in the state, through the recovery of neuralgic areas in health centers, therefore we will not allow these criminals to continue sacrificing innocent lives,” he said.

The Single Health Authority emphasized that after resisting for four years, the Ruiz y Páez University Hospital will finally receive the improvements it deserves in terms of infrastructure.

He reported that the Cardiology Unit is another of the areas that will come into operation soon, a project presented to the Vice Presidency of the Republic and that it will have the respective equipment, to provide Bolivarians with a quality service, totally free.

“With the help of all health workers, President Nicolás Maduro and Governor Ángel Marcano, we are going to put this Unit into operation.”

Maurera pointed out that patients at the Ruiz y Páez University Hospital are receiving the necessary food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) to contribute to their recovery.

He noted that both supplies, medicines and food items are provided by the Institute of Public Health of the state of Bolívar. “Here there are no hiring mafias, that’s over, as a socialist and revolutionary government we must guarantee the well-being of our people,” he insisted.
