Controversy continues over the announcement of a competition to recruit general doctors with wages described by observers as “low.” This is the issue raised by the representative of the Progress and Socialism team in the House of Representatives, Hassan Oumrebit, in a written question addressed to the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khaled Ait Talib.

In this context, the parliamentarian revealed that “the National Agency for the Promotion of Employment and Competencies (ANAPEC) recently published, on its electronic portal, an offer to employ 10 doctors who hold a doctorate in general medicine, to work in dispensaries located in the territory of the Figuig province.”

Omrebit explained, “Setting the monthly fee for these doctors at 6,000 dirhams sparked widespread controversy among those concerned, as many activists expressed their astonishment at the Ministry’s resort to employment according to contracts that do not respect the moral value of doctors, and the great efforts they are making to develop the national health system.”

The same speaker considered that “the contents of this match contradict the articles of Decree No. 7125 related to the statute of the Authority of Doctors, Pharmacists and Dentists, issued in the Official Gazette on September 12, 2022,” and “it is inconsistent with the requirements of the project to facilitate access to health services and stimulate human capital to work and settle in remote areas.” “.

According to the parliamentarian, “expanding and consolidating health services in various regions requires motivating young people to study medicine, by ensuring the implementation of the legal requirements regulating the profession, and raising the scientific and professional value of the doctoral degree in medicine, given that wage justice is a basic and effective principle in achieving justice and equity.” Among the various components of the health sector, in light of the state of right, law and social justice.”

Accordingly, the member of the Progress and Socialism team asked about the circumstances of the announcement of the controversial employment competition. He also asked about the measures that the Ministry of Health intends to take to ensure that job advertisements respect the legal requirements in force.
