Another Venezuelan migrant who tried to cross the Rio Grande, which separates Mexico from the United States, drowned. The man was identified as Víctor Hugo Márquez Aldana, 44 years old.

According to the information provided by their relatives to the portal On the border, Márquez Aldana was being followed by Mexican immigration officials when the death occurred. Furthermore, he had been abandoned by coyotes on one of the islets in the mighty river. The incident occurred on August 17.

The Venezuelan came from the Táchira state and had emigrated to Ecuador four years ago. In that country he was with four of his nine brothers. But he decided to emigrate to the United States in order to achieve better economic stability and to be able to help his wife and his two teenage children who are in Venezuela.

In order to achieve this, he decided to enter the Darién jungle, which he was able to cross in its entirety, however, he was extorted during his passage through the different Central American countries. Throughout his journey he was accompanied by two other Venezuelans who were also traveling from Ecuador.

With Victor Hugo there would be three Venezuelans who have died in the Rio Grande in the second half of August. Well, like him, William Giménez, 33, was also found, who died dragged by the current of the flow.

Another case occurred with Juan David Pulido Cristancho, 27 years old, who was a native of the city of Barinas. His body was also found in the waters of this river on August 17.
