Antibiotic resistance is a major problem for both human and animal health. Some resistant bacteria can be transmitted from animals to humans and vice versa. Bacteria carrying antibiotic resistance genes are also found in the environment. The fight against antibiotic resistance therefore requires a global approach.
This Thursday 17 November, ANSES is organizing a scientific meeting on antimicrobial resistance in animal health and in the environment, during which it presents the main results of the monitoring it coordinates.
