Antwerp: a kidnapped and tortured Dutchman found in Ravels

A 37-year-old Dutchman was found in Poppel, a section of the municipality of Ravels, in the province of Antwerp, following being kidnapped and tortured, the Antwerp prosecutor’s office said on Friday. A 23-year-old suspect from Lommel (Limburg) was arrested.

The 30-year-old was reportedly kidnapped in the Netherlands in connection with a case potentially linked to the drug world. According to the Flemish daily Het Laatste Nieuws, the man lost at least one finger. However, this information has not been confirmed by the prosecution. The man was taken to hospital. The arrested suspect is said to have rented the vehicle from which the victim was pushed to the Belgian-Dutch border.
