Kuala Lumpur ∙ In Malaysia, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim won a vote of confidence in Parliament. King Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmed Shah appointed Anwar Ibrahim (75) as the Prime Minister after no party got a majority in the general election held on the 19th of last month. In the elections to the 222-member parliament, the 3 important fronts did not get a majority. Anwar Ibrahim’s front won 82 seats. The alliance led by former Prime Minister Muhiuddin Yasin won 72 seats. The motion of trust was presented after Yasin demanded to prove the majority.
