Apple: 7% of iPhones are now made in India

Apple continues to grow in India. Anxious to reduce its dependence on China, the Cupertino company spent 7 billion dollars there during the past fiscal year for the production of iPhone. With such an investment, the American juggernaut has tripled its production in India, where it now manufactures nearly 7% of its mobile terminals, reports Bloomberg. As a reminder, the country only accounted for around 1% of iPhones produced worldwide in 2021.

Eventually, Apple would like to transfer half of its iPhone production to India by 2025. By this time, India would therefore have the same production capacity as China, which at the end of 2022 assembled 80% of iPhones. In addition to India, other countries should be favored by Apple for the production of its products, like Vietnam.
