The tech giant, headquartered in Cupertino, California, usually unveils other products besides iPhones, including the latest Apple Watch. The company typically launches the new iPhone in stores regarding a week and a half following its unveiling, and Apple is expected to stick to that policy this year. Some retail store employees have been told to prepare for a major new product release on September 16th.

The company intends to broadcast the event online – rather than in person – in continuation of the approach it has adopted since the beginning of the pandemic. Apple’s launches are very polished, and employees have already started recording presentation clips over the past few weeks, Bloomberg News reports.

An Apple spokeswoman declined to comment on the timing of the event. Given that the unveiling of the phone is still regarding three weeks away, the company’s plans might change, but “Apple” usually reveals new iPhones in the first half of September.
