Apple breaks a new record with a historic quarter in terms of production

24% of smartphones produced between October and December 2021 were iPhones, an all-time high.

Decidedly, Apple has multiplied financial successes for several months. After having reached the heights in the stock market with a capitalization of 3,000 billion dollars and after obtaining the title of most valued brand for 2022Apple would have, during the fourth quarter of 2021, produced more smartphones than it has ever done in its entire history.

This is the website TrendForce which reveals these figures. While global smartphone production reached 356 million units in 2021, the fourth quarter will have been ultra prolific, and especially for Apple, which is the manufacturer that produced the most smartphones over this period. In total, it will have produced 85.5 million smartphones in three months, historically high figures which can easily be explained by the release of the iPhone 13 and which are 66% higher than in the third quarter. To ensure stocks, Apple conducted an aggressive production policy at the end of the year. 24% of smartphones produced between October and December 2021 were iPhones.

These historical production figures logically place Apple in first place in the ranking, far ahead of Samsung and its 71 million devices, or Oppo and its 48 million units produced.

This sharp increase in Apple’s production can be explained in several ways. In addition to the release of the iPhone 13 mentioned above, the Cupertino giant probably took advantage of the sanctions against Huawei to climb to the top spot. Apple’s resurgence in popularity in China is also one of the reasons, with a market share that has risen from 10% to 16%.
