After several years, Apple finally dropped the charges against Gerard Williams III, who left the company to found Nuvia in 2019. Apple sued its former processor specialist at the end of 2019, accusing him of having prepared his project while still working at Apple.

According BloombergApple would have withdrawn its complaint recently, without indicating the reason.

Nuvia has found its place

As a reminder, Gerard Williams III is a veteran in the design of processors. He worked at Texas Instruments, ARM, Apple (for about ten years) before going to found Nuvia. At Apple, he is considered one of the architects of the range of chips developed internally, from the Apple A6. The company was then acquired by Qualcomm and if the (future) chip resulting from this acquisition seems promising, Nuvia has other problems than those related to Apple.

Will the bickering between ARM and Qualcomm have an effect on Apple?
