The interesting thing is that the AirPods first, second or third generation and first generation Pros count as two items, while the second-gen Pro counts as three. The Max model, however, only counts as one item.
According to MacRumorsthe change in this limit occurred with iOS/iPadOS 16. However, only now has Apple updated the support page relating to the process of adding items to Search with the most up-to-date information, sharing it in a more open way.
The increase is very welcome, especially for users who have AirPods Pro models, which take up more than one space in the limit.
