Apple Music Classical launches March 28th

Apple announced Thursday that it will be releasing a full app Classic Apple MusicIt will be available to existing Apple Music subscribers at no additional cost on March 28th.

Apple said the catalog will include more than five million unique tracks and thousands of exclusive albums. Numerous versions and interpretations of many classic pieces have been recorded and published, but Apple says the full app will provide “complete and accurate metadata” and the ability to “search by author, work, conductor, or catalog number.” .

The company acquired Primephonics, a very popular classical music player, in August 2021. At the time, Apple said subscribers would get a “vastly improved classical music experience starting with Primephonic playlists and exclusive audio content.”

Internet connection is required to use Apple Music Classical.

The company said an Android version is “coming soon.”
