As Bloomberg reported on Thursday, Apple plans to introduce artificial intelligence to complete lines of software code.

The tool would be similar to Microsoft’s Copilot, which can complete lines and blocks of code based on the first parts of code that a developer types, the news service reported. Apple might integrate the function into its Xcode software this year.

Apple makes Xcode available to software developers for free, but charges $99 per year to submit apps to its app stores.

Bloomberg also reported that Apple is planning more AI features in its products, such as automatically creating playlists for Apple Music and slide documents in its business presentation software. The news service reports that a new version of Apple’s “Spotlight” search feature on its devices might penetrate deeper into apps to control certain features of the apps.

Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
