A Apple Strasbourgthe company’s store in Strasbourg, France, was invaded last Friday (30/6) after protests over the murder of a 17-year-old boy in the suburbs of Paris last week.

Protests have taken place in various regions of French territory and, in some cases, have resulted in damage to private property — including the Apple Store in question, which has resulted in considerable damage to the store.

As seen in a video of Storyful, which was also shared on Twitter, the attackers broke the shop windows — even kicking them, in broad daylight. Some people were also seen leaving the Apple Store through the broken windows carrying products.

The store in question was closed, as well as other points in the city. According to pointed out by AppleInsider, activities at the units will only be resumed tomorrow (7/4), at special hours. Other stores in France remain open but have taken precautionary measures, such as boarding up windows and limiting opening hours.

The windows of the Apple Store in Bordeaux are completely covered with large wooden panels, the plaque’s logo has also been hidden.

As we said, the protests were motivated by the murder of a teenager (identified as Nahel M.) by the Paris police at the end of June. Since the beginning of the demonstrations, more than 2,000 people have been arrested in the country, according to France 24.
