Apple Vision Pro may have faster “special” memory

Gradually, new information — hitherto not commented on by the Apple – over the Vision Proits mixed reality (augmented/virtual) headset, have come in from other sources.

More recently, for example, o The Korea Herald disclosed that the headset will use memory of the type DRAMDynamic random acess memoryor remote access dynamic memory.”>1faster, “specially designed” by the manufacturer SK Hynix.

According to the information, the “special” type of memory was designed to support the chipset R1one of two processors to be implemented in the Apple Vision Pro, which will work together with the chip M2 — which, in turn, already has an amount of built-in memory, which may be at least 16GB for the headset.

As known, Apple’s R1 chip can quickly process device sensor inputs and provide a lag-free experience. Just to support this high-speed processing, SK Hynix would have developed a 1Gb DRAM.

The manufacturer’s DRAM is known to have a greater number of input and output pins to minimize delays. These chips are also called Low Latency Wide IO. Furthermore, the memory appears to have been designed using a special packaging method to be attached to the R1 chipset as a single unit.

While the DRAM may not be the highest performing memory out there, the new design should help double the headset’s data processing speed, according to industry representatives.
