Apple Vision Pro repair could cost up to $2,400 without AppleCare+

As we reported earlier, consumers keeping an eye on Apple Vision Pro — whose pre-sale began today in the United States — can purchase the AppleCare+ for a (salty) value of US$500.

This cost, however, may be worth it if we analyze the prices for certain device repairs, which have already been disclosed in the Apple support page. More precisely, for now, Apple has two options when requesting Vision Pro repair/replacement: cracked front glass e other damages.

In the first case, the total cost of the repair, if you purchased AppleCare+, will be US$300 (corresponding to the value of the deductible) or US$800 without insurance.

Although AppleCare+ has unlimited accident coverage, if for some reason the entire unit needs to be replaced, the insured user will pay for the same. US$300while those without will have to shell out no less than US$2.400!

The Apple page also has a section with information about battery repair — which, in the case of the Vision Pro, is used separately.

We can replace your Apple Vision Pro battery for a fee. Our warranty does not cover batteries that wear out through normal use. Your product is eligible for battery replacement at no additional cost if you have AppleCare+ and your product’s battery retains less than 80% of its original capacity.

However, battery replacement is not listed in the menu with the aforementioned repair options, so Apple did not reveal the amount of that fee. A new battery for the Vision Pro, worth noting, costs US$200.
