Apple has released a software update that aims to fix the issue of overheating devices on the new iPhone 15 Pro.

The new operating system version iOS 17.0.3 also contains security updates, the company announced on Wednesday. Apple admitted over the weekend that some users’ iPhones were running hot due to a software error in the iOS system.

The reports of iPhones heating up had sparked speculation that the new titanium housing or the newly developed chip might have contributed to this. Apple, however, emphasized that the titanium frame ensures better heat dissipation – and that the processor should not be slowed down during software corrections.

At the same time, the company pointed out that newly set up iPhones may initially generally feel warmer because the electronics are working harder in the background.

Apple shares temporarily gained a margin of 0.07 percent to $172.55 on the NASDAQ.
