There are many accessories for Apple products, and there are many third-party chargers to choose from for the Apple Watch. Recently, Apple issued a document to remind users not to use unofficially certified chargers, otherwise it may cause various problems.

Apple’s latest support document states that Apple Watch users should use Apple’s original or Made for Apple Watch certified chargers to charge their Apple Watch. This ensures that the charger is compatible with the Apple Watch and can be charged safely. Apple says uncertified chargers can cause a variety of issues, including slow charging, frequent beeps, and reduced battery life.

Apple also explained in the document how to tell the authenticity of the Apple Watch charger. In addition to the common marks on the packaging and product, you can also see the manufacturer’s information in the settings following plugging it into a Mac computer. Most of Apple’s products already support open standards, but the Apple Watch still needs to use its own standards for charging.
