Apple will encrypt iCloud backups, not everyone likes it

Apple takes the leap of data encryption

Over the years, the American giant Apple has made safety one of its brand strengths. Apple products would be much more complex for internet scammers to hack. Even if it is regularly pinned for the theft of personal data, the firm continues to improve the security of the devices. The latest proposal: ask users if they want to encrypt their photos, videos stored on iCloud. The measure has at least one major advantage: the encryption makes hacking even more complex.

It is actually an extension of this system already present today. It concerns, for the moment, only the data of the Health application, Maps or even the Safari browsing history. Apple’s idea is therefore to extend this functionality to iCloud data. Users will have the choice, they can refuse this encryption. This choice should be offered soon when updating IOS, the operating system of apple brand products.
